
Aperture is the size of the whole that light comes trough when you take a picture, it can be compared to the pupil of the human eye. You can open it and close it as much as you would desire. The aperture in the bottom imagine is f3.2 which is a big whole, witch as you can see blurs out the background making the image stick out. In the top picture it has an aperture of f22 which is a smaller whole and gives the picture a bigger depth of field and does not blur the background.
