Personal Quilt

My Quilt

Inside

Future

The ideas for my inside quilt came from how i feel inside and what is important to me right now, like my daughter and my girlfriend. My favorite quilt is the inside of me quilt because it means more to me. The ideas for my future quilt came from what I like to do and from what I would like to pursue as a career. The similarities between them are the clock in the background, the font of the words, and a picture of my daughter in both. The symbol I used was the clock in the background of the pictures. Visually I like how my daughter looks in the inside of me quilt, i think that is the strongest in both of the quilts. Overall I had a good experience doing the quilts, I learned a lot of new tools, and had fun doing the quilts.

Scary Effects

My favorite out of these was the alien one because i look scarier on this one. Some new tools that we learned was the pen tool that we used for the lines coming out my mouth and eyes. Some of the difficulties i ran into where burning and dodging i did not want to do to much or not enough. I think I did well on the octupus because it came out good. These picutures could be related to real life, they could be used during halloween or used in a scary movie. Big photogrophers can use this if they need to make a famous celebraty look scary for a movie or for a photoshot.

Critique: Robert & Shana ParkeHarrison

A man in the middle of what seems to be nowhere is staring directly at what could resemble the fires of the devil himself, only having in his possession what appear to be small bags filled of water. It looks to be as if the man is going to take on the fire with only the bags of water and his courage. I think the man is very heroic because he is going to take on the fire by himself with only a couple bags of water. I believe he is doing this not because of any simple reason but he may be trying to stop it before it gets to something that is really valuable to him, like his home or family.

Portraits

The portrait that i think i was most successful with was the face portrait. I believe this because you can see her in that picture smiling and the background was good on it. To create an artistic portrait i used an extreme angle and put some flowers before my partner to capture the mood of happiness. The costume/prop that i choose was my partners volleyball uniform. I choose this because this is something that she really enjoys doing and is something that is unique about her. Yes i do like that way the portrait of the costume came out, because she looks happy in it. My surprise photo is unique in the way that my partners face is not very visible, it is very blurry due to the fact that i used macro.

Compositional Trick #8 Fill In Flash

Fill in flash affected my photos by bringing light where there was no light, making the details covered by shade and darkness appear. Fill in flash can be used when you are in a dark place and need to take a picture if you use the flash it will show light and make the picture come out better.

Compositional Trick #7 Drawing With Light

Working with light in my pictures set them apart from others because the light helps create a mood in my pictures. The feeling that i get when i look at this photo is inspiration, the light helps create this feeling because the light comes trough and shines on her face.

Compositional Trick #6 Framing

Framing helps composition by making the subject more noticeable, it shows a frame around making it the center of attention. The frame in my photos help my compostion by framing the pretzel and making all the attention on the pretzel, and the same is done on the firehidrent.

Compositional Trick #5 Extreme Angles

Extreme Angles is a good compositional trick to know because it makes you see the picture from an EXTREME angle, seeing a picture from an extreme angle makes it look more interesting. My photos i believe are a good example of extreme angles because my picture makes the phone look really big and makes the person look shorter or as if you are looking at her at a very tall persons view.

Compositional Trick #4 Simplicity

The simplicity trick in a photo helps stregthen the composition of a photo because it takes out all the other distractions that could of been in the photo that where taking away attention from your subject. Simplicity is an affective trick this is true because everything is concentrated on just your subject, for instance in my pictures there is nothing else but one subject and the attention is on that subject.

Compositional Trick #3 Macro

The macro option located in the camera is very useful to zoom into the texture and details of pictures. It is good to use if your a photographer when you want to show all the details in your pictures and would just like for everyone to be concentrated on your emphasis, this happens because the background becomes blurry and all eyes become concentrated on the emphasis.

Compositional Trick #2 Leading Lines

Leading Lines guides the viewers into the picture, trough and around it, but also leading straight to the emphasis of the picture.

Compositional Trick #1 Rule of Thirds

The Rule of Thirds is when the photographer uses a tic tac toe grid either located on an option on the camera or imagining it themselves in their head to place their subject in the center of the tic tac toe lines to make it look more interesting. You would use the rule of thirds when you want a more interesting composition.
